Buying Advice...

Been ringing around about a few Main Dealer cars. They seem very reluctant to take any more the a few hundred quid off FF's in the £37K region - is that normal these days? I'm buying straight and though I could negotiate at least a grand off sticker price, but maybe those days are gone?

They also always ask me if I want their finance and when I say no I get a disappointed pause at the end of the phone - do they make as much on the finance deals these days as the actual sale?

Thanks

main dealers wont reduce their prices by much but you could ask for some extras like mats etc.. ... - .- -.

Same here, newbie, looking to buy, went to look at one last week and dealer pretty much wouldn't move on price, just under £30k, I have px though. I'm still unsure though to get a tdv8 3.6 or a 5.0. Been lurking on here as a guest for a while and registered last week to ask questions.
When negotiating, and they won't budge apart from mats and fuel do you think it's worth asking for a service thrown in too?
Or in my case upping the px value?
Sorry to ak questions on your thread otto. Thumbs Up

Thank you. Thumbs Up
I'm over from the D3 and freel2 site. Always kept looking on here as a guest as I used to own a rangie. A classic shape one. And always looked at owning one again.
Lots of info on here and they seem a good bunch of folk. Bow down

Dealers now make far more on the finance than they do on the cars... prices will always be flexible though and go on the last day of the month (next Friday) if they are not up to their quota they will be more amicable... see if you can get MOT's and a service package thrown in, also things like new tyres...

And don't be scared to walk away, there are plenty out there... Pete
