Fixed - HVAC Air quality sensor line fault

Hi, the IID tool shows this ECU fault:
"HVAC-Heat / Cool 1/1 0x30 Air quality sensor line fault"

I tried to clear the fault with the IID tool but the fault remains.

I think I've checked all of the hot and cold heater vents both on the seats and elsewhere in the car and they all seem to be working fine (maybe the driver's seat back is a tad less prominent than the driver's seat base but from previous posts, that does not seem uncommon).

An internet search has found references on rangerovers.net to "0x30 0x0030 Air quality sensor line fault" being attributed to an air pollution sensor at the top RHS of the radiator.

I have yet to check fuse 12 (air con) but the fact that the system generally seems to be working would seem to negate a fuse as a culprit.

From the internet search, suggested causes of similar fault:
"0x30 0x0030 Air quality sensor line fault" are -

1. Heater core selector valve clogged with debris/ stuck open.

2. Leaking condenser/ resultant lost gas in the system (if there is a lack of gas the clutch won't engage the compressor).

** Note, the LR garage serviced the Air Con and did a re-gas just 6 months ago.

3. Faulty clutch/compressor.

The LR warranty on our car says the Air Conditioning is covered for "failure of... Compressor, condenser, receiver dryer and evaporator...".

Just trying to work my way through any faults shown by the IID tool and clear or otherwise rectify them.

Does all of this mean anything to anyone who has experience of this diagnostic fault please?

Thanks in advance. Thumbs Up

You have probably worked this out for your self but that sensor will be for the automatic setting on the recirculation function , so its not the biggest of deals . Do you have it on the auto setting ? 2008 MY Supercharged

Well, since Axle's post I plugged the IID tool in using all different permutations of the Air Con, heaters, demisters and the seat warming/ cooling switched on. The fault remained and would not clear.

I then switched all of the heaters, Air Con etc off completely and the fault did clear.

But, after turning the vehicle ignition off and on again, the fault code returned.

A little confused but accept it's no big deal Neutral

Just worked out how you got that info Stan and can now - kind of - work Microcat. Very clever system.

For the part you and CG are leaning towards as the culprit with ours, namely:
Sensor Air Inlet (Re circulation) LR Part Number JTF100130 - it's only approx £20 GBP for the part.

Is it just a straightforward unplug old and plug in the new, does anyone please know?

Thanks
Thumbs Up
