Maybe Wiggs can do it, otherwise have a look at a normal DVD/electronics repair shop and ask them. Have you looked at a second hand one on Ebay and the likes ?? MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Hi mate, I had a look on eBay but couldn't really find many. Mine is the type that has a sliding lock and unlock button on the front of the drive, is a denso unit but not sure what they are actually called. Also is it possible to update the firmware on these do you know? Thanks

I can't check my Faultmate right now also because I don't have access to the 2006 model. Only then I can see if there are software updates available (Blackbox claim they always have the latest updates from JLR on their website/servers).

I also didn't see any units for your car. As far as I know the Sport units can not be used (the Sport and Discos have interchangeable systems if I'm informed correctly).

Maybe ask Wiggs if he knows, he does the Bluetooth units but also seem quite knowledgeable of the rest of the electronics. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

I think Baris could be for the BMW based kit, but I could be wrong. Worth asking the question.

If you have the mk4 DVDs type there are people on eBay etc that exchange yours for a refurb end one but it's about £200 I think.
But you can buy the laser for about £20 and search for the instructions and get an electrical engineer to disassemble and solder in the new laser. It's not hard but if you haven't soldered, it's not good for your first job.
Search for something like Bmw mk4 DVDs nav laser renewal there are pictures and all details. Mine is a mk4 and on the blink I have bought the laser but not yet got round to fitting it. It sometimes won't load up. Can't search at present but there are Bmw forums which show you the prices. The laser comes through from China so it's a 3 week delivery.

Mine is the later Denso unit, I think if it's going to cost more than £200 to repair I may aswell just get a tomtom as the nav system is old hat anyway

I bought a faulty mk4 nav unit and a replacement laser from eBay. Easy job to replace the laser unit with a small tipped soldering iron.
