Here in company with a couple other fine pieces of British engineering, just 53 years apart. Fergie is getting ready for winter and also got new paint and rubber on the right front wheel.

On one of the trips this summer i had EDF on the scale and with luggage and 2 adults, 2 children is weighed in on exactly 3100 kg, so it's a heavy beast

Last night, on our way to our weekend home we saw this moose, it was laying asleep in a neighbours garden and raised when we came close and lit it up with the light from the Range Rover.

EDF do its final run on the MT/Rs for this season. After reversed in the caravan in it's winter storage its time to drive home and fit the winter tyres. The thing is it's illegal to pull a trailer with summer tyres if you have winters on the car. But from December 1st its a requirement to fit approved winters, so all have to be done in the right order and in time. Hopefully be back here tonight with the winters fitted. Time flies, indicator says it's due for another service

Start with getting the pollen filter out and vaccum the cavity for any debris.

Old genuine diesel filter with instructions printed.

New filter in place. Looked to get a spare plastic retainer ring, but couldn't find that this is available as a separate part?!

Air box cleaned of all loose debris.

Loosen the oil filter housing.

Out with the old and in with a new filter.

And replace the O-ring on the lid.

The hoist gives decent work conditions when working on the underside.

Would this be a suitable lift height? How big can the tyres then be?

New oil in. Now using Q8 Formula Techno FE Plus oil of the correct specification ACEA A5/B5 and Ford WSS M2C913-D.

Everything completed under bonnet and under car for this time.

Engine service reset completed with IID Tool.

Very nice we got some proper winter. Temp between -5°C and -20°C the last couple weeks and a fresh layer of powder almost every night.

Upgraded the lights on my blue D2 for the third time, now with 3x185 Watt LED, +50000 lumens in addition to my HID converted original lights is quite impressive Supporter and maintainer of EDF - Mrs Edfors' shopping cart.

Drove EDF today, got some road salt on it so I washed it tonight

Only -4°C tonight, too bad garage is full of "good to have stuff" so I drove it 6 kms to air dry, didn't work so well, most froze to ice
