Does anyone know how this ones comes out (please dont say i have to remove the boot floor)

after electrical cleaning everything i could reach, i am left with some left over plugs (cannot for the life of me remember if they were plugged in to start with or just spare harness

the flat plug middle right comes direct from the sat nav cd player (sat nav appears to work fine)
big white plug appears to go nowhere?

after everything i could could find being plugged back in it appears the antenna has some sort of power and its not got any (cannot pickup any stations)

Further update, it appears to be drivers door speakers (top tweeter included), drivers back door speakers and centre dash speaker when putting balancer all the way to the left the humming stops (might be related but all the controls on the drivers door have stopped working). was looking at the loom going into the door and it appears to be secured with a 10mm nut?, does that have to be undone to get the plug out? (might need to buy a new tool for that)

From memory, You need to take off the lash down loop chrome thing using an Allen key then you can undo the plastic nuts that are in the hole recesses in the black plastic boot floor cover…. Just an extra bit comes out, to give you complete access.

You can buy a “water shedder” from LR to fit behind it all so it stays dry.

The screen is driven through the sat nav.

Hi mjdronfield
thank you for your reply, im not 100% sure on what part you mean, i thought you mean the plastic floor but that appears to go under every other panel in the boot

(i presume you do not mean this piece?
thanks

Correct, that bit. It’s quite easy. You can gently lift the other panel so you can slide the plastic bit out. It all comes apart really easy - I’ve just stripped the whole lot out and put it back again

Try to replace the SatNav CD system with a BMW MK4 DVD GPS unit ( DVD ROM Drive ) , then you can enter a UK postcode on the screen ( only the MK4 model can do this )

Thank you all for your reply, in my effort to try and sort this car I again have made it much worse, cleaned up all the electronics but think I have some of the arials in the wrong place maybe some other cables aswell sat nav on road and off road missing from radio menu and opening any door other than drivers makes a very loud buzzing (almost like an alarm)
