MPEG4 tv tuner for MY09 L322?

Hi, anyone that have installed the "M44HD DVB-T MPEG-4 TV Tuner" from Eldi in Bulgary?

http://www.eldibg.com/en/products/905-DAS+...otion.html

They claim that this will work on a 04-09 L322, but will it also work on the rear headrest screens (rear seat entertainment)? Anyone that knows?

I've sent an email to Eldi to get some more information about this L322-compatible Mpeg4 tuner. Will revert with more information after I've heard from them.

On my question to this info if the rear camera still will work, and if one can view TV on the headrest screens, the answer was:

Quote:
Hi,

it takes longer to get an complete information about interface compatibility from the manufacture for your case.
In the Range Rover 2009 L322 TDV8 with rear seat entertainment it is possible to install the
DT1-LR interface instead the OEM TV tuner.

Factory TV tuner must be uninstalled .
It is possible to view TV from the rear seats through the RSE screens.
Factory installed DVD changer still work and camera will work.

Regards!

That should mean that one can replace the factory installed hybrid TV tuner with this DT1-LR tuner, and then everything will work as it should do, or?

Anyone having experience with this equipment?
Why would you want MPEG4 compatibility as its really only needed for hd which the ff standard screens can't display? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

as said, norway [and ireland] use the mpeg4 system...
there isnt a LR tuner for the FF that provides this standard...the FF tuner standard is mpeg2 and uses the MOST fiber optic wiring.
if this 'new' tuner provides mpeg4 via MOST ,then it will be ok but i've not seen anything like this [yet] ... - .- -.

i had a look at these interfaces.
in my opinion they are not that plug and play as you wish.
you need to attach the video signal direct to the headunit via fakra
and also connect most!

is there any solution with most to get 1-2 av inputs where you only change the
tv tuner in the trunk?

is the original tuner also connected via most and fakra or just most?
so maybe one can use the old fakra cable to attach the interface?

best option would be av interface with two inputs, one for tv tuner the other just for audio use.

ok found one myself Very Happy

this tuner has MPG2 and CI Interface AND two video inputs!

http://www.rgsound.it/das-m44ci-most-plus-...21518.html

There is also an HD Version with MP4, can't find a good source :/
have a look at the products at their site!

User Guide

http://www.dasdvbt.com/doc/digital_tv/M44-CI-CAN-en.pdf

i think the "only" problem is to get a fakra connection to the headunit!

here you can see specific installation for Range Rover, also MY09!

http://www.dasdvbt.com/ita/software.php
you choose the car and then you can see the downloads! there is an PPT with pictures

if you have a look in the user guide you see the interface on screen, ok its not pretty but it works Smile

EDIT:

M44HD seems discontinued Sad

http://www.eldibg.com/en/products/884-DVB-...T1-LR.html

dvbLogic2 has also MP4

Hi, interesting - I'm not that into the How-To part of this, so maybe a silly question from me: What is the FAKRA-connection to the headunit? And Why is that important?

I observe from the http://www.dasdvbt.com/software.php page that there is a difference in installing the system to a MY09 versus to a MY07. I first posted this thread in Dec 14 - we were at that time considering buying a FFRR MY09, but we ended up buying a FFRR MY07 - also having RSE. So I'm still eager to substitute the factory installed TV tuner with a new one that supports MPEG4, and that can be integrated with the existing audio/NAV-unit. But my main priority at the moment is to figure out the cause of the battery drainage in the car... ( http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic32456.html )

fakra is the typ of plug for the connection. you need a video connection from the tuner to the sceen in the front.
the most connection, as i understand, is only for audio and the controls. on the rear of the headunit you have three video ins (nav, tv, rear cam).

yes, as it seems gen1 navi hast the fakra connection and gen2 has other type.

but if there is a video connection to the tuner in the back, where is it?
maybe anyone can answer this question!

if the video is in the big connector for the tv maybe one can use this to make installation easier.
i dont want to take dash cover apart :/
