Rear bushes - how long should they last?

Evening all ( nope I am not Dixon of Dock Green) wondered if there is any rule of thumb re life of rear bushes i.e. years? Miles ? do realise it depends on terrain but just wondered if there were any guidelines ?

Replaced all four of mine after 12 years and 120,000 miles... well, the ones in there looked original.......

If you do yours I'd buy new bolts and washers, one of my bolts sheared on removal and they were all very rusty...

Made a massive difference to the ride quality... Pete

Seems like they go from @ 9 years onwards, some sooner, depends on the life they have had, some go sooner, especially the top ones. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Bushes are around the £30 mark (each) bolts and washers maybe £15 each bush

Two hours labour would probably cover it although easy enough to do yourself if you have the tools

See the Wiki for Jo's excellent writeup Pete
