Ok I'm toying with getting a decent dog cage for out muttleys when caravanning. Something that can be pulled out of the car and put in the awning too. Ideally fitting the FFRR profile to give he best space for the dogs. Anyone got anything they can recommend?

It attaches to the anchor points in your boot. The good thing about this product is the dogs use it to sleep in at night when we were away as it easily comes out of the car.

Not as safe I suppose if you were in a accident...

Medium size fits in back of an L322, and takes an average WORKING springer spaniel (i.e. not a puffy show dog without muscles), you can stack bags and luggage on it and around it without fear of damage to the dog and strap it down to the retainer rings with a small ratchet strap. They are cheap, strong (airline approved) and easy to clean. Loads of used once examples on ebay - people buy them to emigrate as they are airline approved and then sell as good as new...

google vari kennel, the Police, RSPCA etc etc also use them

they also fit the L322 well - right up to the wheel arch and seat back as they are tapered, and the top comes off to convert into a conventional dog bed out of the car. They used to do a lovely hunter green colour - the cream looks a bit clinical

I came across them in the States years ago, the Yanks strap them to the panniers of a quad to take their dogs out into the uplands. IMHO the brit aluminium shooting dog boxes are too big, too ugly, too expensive and take up all your boot.

The Aluminium elegance one. Expensive but works very well & does not rattle & only just comes up above the seats so still have rear vision.

Fits in perfectly, also use a non genuine load area liner that has a back & sides so keep the hairs in the back as well.

Fixed to luggage straps.

Got to be a double with room for them to strech out. I also like the idea of the escape hatch. The whole rear of the 110 is caged with an escape hatch but a cobled that together myself. Its good but I don't know if my fab skills would do the FFRR justice.

I'll let you know which we go for, we next hook the c-van up in October.
