New Ugly, sorry Audi

Can't believe the front, looks like a potato cutter to make french fries, but for twice the price you can buy the same car with an other body as a Bentley later this year, well....each his own

Horrid, Horrid, Horrid same old Horrid Story....

Always disliked the Q7 Barge since test driving it shortly after launch.

One of the Mums at schools has a totally blinged up one with 22" wheels and you simply cannot look at it Censored

A prominent car designer who absolutely shall not be named agreed with what everyone has been thinking, but has been reluctant to say: the newest Audi Q7 is amazingly bad.

I was walking the Detroit Auto Show floor and I spotted a car designer (whose cars you have seen and do adore) walking in the opposite direction, alone, unattended. I've seen the guy on TV before, I recognized him, and stopped him to ask his opinion. We happened to be crossing paths in front of the Audi stand.

I asked him what he thought of the lineup. He asked what I meant. I turned to the Q7. "It's hideous, isn't it?" He quickly double checked my badge that I wasn't an Audi employee, and then he relaxed.

He called it more like a station wagon than before, and he called it ugly. And he called it a mess.

After a pause, he had the most clear, most accurate description of everything tired, messy, boring, and bad about the design.

"It's brutal."

Maybe it's no surprise that Audi's head of design got "relieved of duties" last year. Rolling with laughter

I had an Audi for 2 years before the FF, and do you know what it did everything it should, and nothing it shouldn't everyday - I wonder if I'll be able to say that after 2 year's with the FF Whistle

Let's be honest there are plenty of revolting and chavved up RR's around (I see several most days at my daughters school) - it is by no means the exclusive domain of Audi, Porsche and BMW drivers Whistle

Oh dear - the die hard's are pointing the guns again...suppose with a green oval on it we'd all be commending LR on their design Yawn

I too had an Audi, for 3 years and tbh if the Q7 had the interior space to match it's exterior stance I'd have one of those. My A8 Quattro did what i asked it too, never was stuck on a muddy field and was a much nicer drive than the RR.

Each time I wonder about changing my car I do confess to heading back to the green oval but the appeal is fading and with Q7's, Touareg's and LC's all in a similar price for what I want.....this could be my last Land Rover product....unless a nice 4.4 TDV8 pops up !! Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

The challenge is that we buy cars with our hearts rather than our heads most of the time - otherwise I suspect there would be far fewer of us in RR's Whistle

That was the 'problem' with the Audi, it was very good in every respect, but it lacked character and soul.

^. Huh? What? You like the look of it? Laughing

There are some decent looking Audis such as the S Line, but the Q series really aren't. designed by a blind man with an inferiority complex.

It's not necessarily something I'd buy but it's not that bad Whistle and I doubt that potato cutter grill will make it onto production models Whistle Now: BMW 640d M Sport, Alpine White
Gone: Range Rover 4.4 V8 Vogue, Zambezi Silver, Charcoal Oxford Leather
Also: Mk1 Audi TT 1.8T Quattro, Brilliant Black
