IIDTOOL Code: P1180-01 Low side fuel pressure sensor

So been slowly sweeping through the error codes the FF has thrown up - all been pretty minor so far but a new code appeared this week - after a little searching I can't find much that specially relates to my engine so hoping you guys can help.

Has anyone else seen;
P1180-01 Low side fuel pressure sensor plausibility (fuel filter) - reduction in quantity due to low pre-pressure - General failure information - general electrical failure.

If so any idea what I really means? I'm guessing its something to do with low pressure fuel release, maybe at the lower revs?

Phones my local main dealer and got the usual line of "bring it in for diagnostics and we'll let you know" not keen to spend £90 just to do that if it's something simple to resolve.

Thanks in advance 2002 Range Rover Vogue

First if you haven' done a service for a while get it serviced.
Some intervals i've seen mention of 20k. This is FAR too long IMO and a diesel should be serviced every 6k as the oil and filters are that cheap, and diesel oil soots up quickly and starts to go cruddy after 15k IMO Ive seen it on a few engines where it drains out in globs at the manufacturer timed service interval Sad

If the issue still pops up then the following needs to be looked at,
Low Pressure Fuel pump(the one under the passenger side rear next to the fuel tank
The intank pump unit could be getting gunge buildup around the intakes on the mesh filters.

I would personally also try some kind of fuel system cleaner. Put the whole bottle in to 1/2 a tank of diesel as it will help speed up the cleaning process Very Happy FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I still get her serviced as per the dash indicator (or timing lapsed) via the main dealer, last one was only about 5k miles ago.

I was really looking to see if anyone else has seen this issue and if so is it a quick self fix.

I will try fuel cleaner this weekend and see what happens.

Thanks 2002 Range Rover Vogue

Be careful of overdosing with fuel cleaner, if you don't dilute it to the manufacturer recommendation you run the risk of "washing the bores", this is when the excess cleaner removes the film of oil on the cylinder bores and causes scuffing of the rings and piston inducing premature wear. Thumbs Up Pete

To do that kind of bore washing you'd have to be using something like petrol in wuch a strong mix the engine wouldn't fire. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I can't recall but in the past I've replaced
Injectors
Pump
Injector loom
Low pressure pump

And I blame a bad batch of BioD for that but checked everything else over and it seems grand. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
