What Car

What Classic car or any other car for that matter would you buy and restore it to it's former Glory ........

For me i would go for the Mk II Ford Granada 2.8 Ghia X Embarassed ( NOT SO MUCH REGARDED AS A CLASSIC ) but many moons ago i had Four different versions of this model and at the time they went like Censored off a shovel , plus you could have a party in the back seats ...... Wink Wink Wink

There have been others but the Granada was that bit special ......... Ahh Memories ...... Laughing

My first car was a Granada X plate 2.8 GL Estate. Had it for three years. Used it to go to college and it was great at the time.

But for me it'd have to be an old Series 1 or 2 Land Rover. Just no time...

When i was a boy, my Dad had a Mk1 3 Litre Granada like the Sweeney look and a Mk11 2.8i ghia X. Champagne with brown leather IIRC and the bigger wheels!

Loved them both and in there day they were the dogs Censored

We use to regularly drive down to Spain in the 70s and early 80s in them and i loved it!

Before the Granadas he had a Mk1 3.0 Capri - Wow that was mega cool in its day!!!!!

I would love a go in any of these now and get nostalgic

I have an old Morris Minor Pick Up tucked away in storage which I may get around to restoring one day.

it would have to be a Rover 3.5 litre coupe - A P5 Thanks Gents

i have fond memories of going on holiday in it down to Weymouth & then to Jersey Whistle

Just remember the smell of the leather & wood - really thick wood - I'm guessing early 1970's

Got to find a picture of one now to at least relive the memory Thumbs Up

Money and technical knowledge no object (I have neither) then I would have a Triumph Stag in white or a Moonraker Blue Rover SD1 Vitesse or a white 3 door launch edition Range Rover or a CSK................... or as a total masochist a Jensen Interceptor FF - not much to ask really. As it is a 15 year old Defender is quite enough!

My brother has an Austin Healey 3000ME and I don't envy the unrelablity he suffers even with being totally rebuilt from the ground up and with the engine having been rebuilt, it never seem to get more than 100 miles between major disasters

One reason that late 60's early 70's cars are so desirable is that they were so prone to rust that there are very few of them left making things like good Cortinas and Allegros really valuable cars these days 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Bow down

Any RS Mk 1 or 2 Escort, Lotus Cortina Mk1 or 2, Mk 2 1600E or a TR6 would do

Last weekend I saw a pristine TR7 soft top, hood down and you know even though it was gold with brown cloth interior it looked fantastic. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
