judder when steering on full lock

Hi Guys, can anyone advise me if there is a fault or something broken or worn on my 2003 L322 4.4 When i pull off forward or reverse and have the steering in full lock, such as when pulling out of a parking, the car seems to judder and lose power, then when driving normally there seems to be a miss at low speed. Should i be worried or is this a simple fix. I have only had the car a couple of weeks so look forward to your help.5r4 Sad

It could have something to do with the power steering pump drawing too much power in full lock.

I don't think I have ever noticed the "scrubbing tyres" due to the tyres being turned "too far" like I had on my Triumph Herald. This phenomenon is caused by the tyres being pushed sideways due to the fact they are turned a bit too far.

These are two things I can think of could be happening although I have not heard of either happening on a FFRR before. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Could it be something as simple as a worn belt? You remind me of a young me, not much younger mind, perhaps even a little older!

It could be a slipping belt, but i would have thought a squeel would allert you to that, it doesn,t do it all the time but when it does happen it is not a nice feeling, it feelslike the engine has hickups, thats the best i can explain it. I have ordered a set of sparkplugs, ii will change them and see if that helps, by the way i can,t even see the belts without pulling bits off.
That miss is what really makes me think plugs, when i give it a bit of a rev the engine light comes on and it looses power, lift my foot and the light goes out and she runs fine Sad

Well i changed the plugs today, bit of a concern, 3,4and 5 had a lot of oil in the plughole and when i removed the plugs they werelso oily, could have been from when i removed them though, on the other side 5, 6, 7 and 8 were fine, the plugs whitish which showed thhey were firing, but those oily ones, its hard to tell, i couldn,t see where the oil would come from, any ideas?

On most cars oil there is caused by leakage of the cam covers. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Can't think they would have been oily in the car, it will be the leaking cam cover gaskets causing it, if the engine light came on then it will have stored a code, get it read and go from there....

Judder on full lock is a sign of a worn power steering pump, try to keep it just off full lock and it will last forever!!!

Your just starting to learn the joys of FF ownership....... Pete
