Brakelights/Switch. L332 TD6

Hi, my Brakelights were staying on and then flashing etc ,mainly on its 1st start up of the day. I changed the pedal switch and it solved the problem cleared the code on the ecu. I then noticed when I turned the ign key onto the 1st position the brakelights flashed on and off once, when turning the key off no flashing is this normal?. The brakeswitch code has also re appeared on the ecu. Could the problem be the Brake Module???.Also the dreaded Air suspention inactive/hdc/abs etc has reappeared, gone into suspention ecu No codes stored. Would this all be linked ????. Kind Regards
Darren

I don't know about your brake switch but the air suspension inactive / hdc / abs lights on usually indicates a low voltage occurrence. Hows your battery?

Brake light faults on the early cars is usually down to a failing LCM... Thumbs Up

If you have an IID, switch off cold/hot monitoring and it should stop the flash (that's the car checking the lamps if they are filament)

If you don't ... well it's just the check it does and a standard lamp doesn't respond Smile

ECU's rarely fail in such an odd way. Land Rover Addict

Yes they do! Very common LCM's failing and leaving the brake lights permanently on!!!

Hi checked multiplugs sensors all ok. went to LR specialist only thing that came up was Brakelight switich. The new one I fitted was from LR Direct a Brtipart switch. Specialist said get a Genuine one and try that. Done this today and the brakelights stayed on permanently ?? Sad . Put Britpart one back on all fine again.ABS lights hdc/air suspention stayed on with both switches. Could it be the Light Check Module ?. If so where is it Located please. Thankyou Darren.

Somewhere in my memory bank i remember there being an issue with a loom between the abs ecu and either the lcm or the bcm and JLR suggest you cut a wire from the abs ecu...

Ill do some searching tomorrow for you fella... Thumbs Up
