I've found one with the spec I am looking for, but 2 possible drawbacks.

The first im not sure is a problem or not, it's a 3.0 TDV6 instead of the 4.4 TDV8 (which the majority seem to be). Is that a big negative? Would there be a noticeble difference?

The other issues is it's quite high miles (just under 50k) which for a 2013 is obviously quite high. Others I've been looking at have been around the 20k mile region (but around £15,000 more expensive than this one). Would the miles cause me problems further down the line do you think?

25k miles per year not really that high. Means it is just run in. The 3.0 TDV6 in the Discovery is capable of really big mileage so shouldn't be a worry. The rest of the car seems well put together. (My first L405 did 22k in its first year with issue). With LR used warranty you are safe for 2 years anyway.

Only you can decide on the 3.0 vs 4.4 question. I think the 3.0 is smoother and feels more nimble. The 4.4 has plenty of torque and is a V8!

Rolling with laughter Last week the one I suggested at 37k miles was too high Thumbs Up

Is it from a main dealer ?

The 3.0 is favoured by some - I guess there are not many with the executive rear seats as most who select that seem to have all the options added.

25k miles/year would suggest either lots of motorway miles or it's been used as an up-market mini cab Whistle

haha sorry about that Alistair Embarassed I was hoping for low miles, and at £80k I wouldn't want something with 37k miles ideally. But this other one is similar spec and only £66k (nearly £14k cheaper) which is why its so tempting.

Looks good value.

I think that has the 1700w stereo too - I could be wrong - and no doubt someone will correct me - but I think the seat back speakers are part of the signature audio package.

The boot looks a bit grubby - but otherwise quite tidy - I'd be very tempted at that price Thumbs Up

My current house cost me £73500 in 1992. Two years ago, I ordered a brand new Range Rover Sport Dynamic for £81,000 - or I did till I had a reality check and bought a 3 year old FFRR instead. As Mrs S said at the time, that's more than we paid for the house......... The Rangie was £37K, and there are still places in Britain where you can buy somewhere to live for that!

haha couldn't agree more. the wise thing for me to do would be to buy 2 houses not too far from here for the same money as the rangey and rent them out - but wheres the fun in that! Smile

High milers can be a bargain if you're a low mileage user. By the time you're ready to sell the mileage will be back to normal for the age.

If on the other hand you do a fair number of miles it may be difficult to sell and you will be taking a hit.

still looking, not quite found the ideal one.

I decided to leave that 'cheap' one as it needed quite a bit of work doing to it (dent/scratch repairs, wheels refurbed and interior missing parts e.g parcel shelf) clearly not a well cared for car, and I think whilst spending a couple of grand getting it mint would result in a nicely spec'd bargain, it would completely take the edge off ownership for me - so i'm holding out a bit longer.

Spotted a lovely one, ticks all the boxes - but it's the petrol 5.0
