New one already here since two weeks now. And I am still impressed by the quality, ease of driving and sound, behaviour, feel and general "new smell".

Yes, I am the new owner. After a very smooth sale with lots of help from Boris, I departed Northern Germany on the afternoon of 9 April for the drive back to Sittingbourne, Kent in UK. Had to split the journey over two days with my first stop being around 2am in Tilburg, Holland. Departed at 7am to catch ferry from Calais, arriving at home around 2pm that day.

Day after, visited the Land Rover dealership in Maidstone to get advice about preparing the car for use in Cameroon. After leaving, warning notices appeared on the dash about inactive suspension and no HDC. After consulting this forum and realising it was a common problem, I took it to a LR specialist near Maidstone and had a sensor on the steering column replaced. Problem solved! Took it to True Grip off road centre near Ashford to see what the vehicle was capable of. After several ascents and descents, both forward and in reverse around a quarry and then along rough tracks through wooded area, left with no doubt about the vehicle's suitability for driving in Cameroon. Had the car fully serviced including gearbox oil change and new front pads and discs on 30 April before a weekend in Cornwall to impress family. The week after I delivered it to Pickfords in Wembley and it left on a container ship from Tilbury on 24 May. A change of vessel in Tangiers in June and it arrived in Douala Port, Cameroon on 1 July.

It is currently going through customs clearance before it is transported to Yaounde. Then the fun really begins - two years in Cameroon with plenty of opportunities for proper off road/dirt track driving. Once I have it in Yaounde, I will create a new thread in the Africa Section. I have only seen one other FFRR in Younde so far, so hopefully we will be part of an exclusive group. I have seen several Disco 3 and 4 and Defenders amongst the thousands of Toyota Land Cruisers.

Hi Boris,

Our FFRR has been out of the container and in use in Yaoundé, Cameroon for almost a week now. I have created a new Post in the Africa section of the Forum under the heading "FFRR in Cameroon" if you want to follow events over the next two years.

Hope you are still enjoying your new TDV8? That will probably be my choice for next FFRR when I return to the UK.

4.4TDV8 is fine, running well, all good. Wife enjoys a lot - me too.
Have a Q7 as company car now as well, so TDV8 is enjoying easy life.
Still has been used for proper runs. Great car.
Have bought the wife a smart as well, which has its limits as soon as the family shows up,
so the Range is always pressed into service then
