Brake discs

I'm looking at purchasing a new set of discs and pads for my missus 2012 car and have not decided on genuine or aftermarket parts yet, but the question is if I use genuine can anybody recommend which paint would be good to stop them going rusty?

Am sure you cannot go wrong with genuine but I think this is one of those occasions where you really do have a choice, there are plenty of discs out there with far better performance than genuine and lots of good makes that are well trusted, well made and are up to the task that may be a little cheaper than genuine, just don't buy cheap Censored !!

I ordered genuine from Dan at Duckworths and then painted hub and vents with high temp aerosol paint off ebay nearly two years ago. It has really stood the test of time, including a very high temperature trauma with a sticking caliper.

Well worth the effort.

I'm assuming you have to have Brembo callipers to fit Brembo discs/pads?

Right, I've decided - Genuine parts from Dan at Duckworths, paint them with HT paint (probably ebay grey).
One last question, I've just bought a torque wrench, does anybody know the disc bolt torque settings?

Cheers

If you're talking about the torx screw that holds the disc on, I believe it's 35nm.

A quick look online and you can find great quality discs from Ebc,mintex,Bosch,Britpart,Quinten hazel,Brembo all at prices similar if not better than genuine and some are painted that will last the lifetime so no need to paint,if you want to spend a few extra quid you will get much better slotted/drilled .Or you could be safe and choose Genuine!
