After taking the top off the engine and pipes etc there was a huge 1 cm pool of thick anti freeze gunk at the back around the cooler and a little at the front, also a couple of pipes had built a crust up around the ends no wonder it was taking a bit of water for a while

Mine didn't crack

But I was warned about it by the mechanic, which replaced it as a safe measure when I had to take apart most of the items around the engine.
