i've noticed that the FFRR hid's have a slight yellowing,so i'm thinking of 5000k to give a more whiter/slight bluey colour..i'm curious to know if anyone has changed theirs .. ... - .- -.

I have 6000k HID in my Vivaro work van, they're a very bright white, a hint of blue, but you can see for miles with them. Must annoy the hell out of other drivers though, but I can see just fine so sod them Laughing 2006 Mercedes CLS

I had a woman in a Smart Roadster in front of me in traffic a while back actually putting her hand over her door mirror as the beam pattern from my headlights was basically where her eyes were Laughing 2006 Mercedes CLS

Off topic a bit as it is no problem for most FFRR's but putting HID bulbs in ordinary parabolic Headlight reflectors is an anti-social complete and utter wast of time , the light scatter from the very different light souse means you don't throw any more light forward but you do scatter very intense light in all sorts of odd directions blinding and distracting other road users, selfish and dangerous. 2008 MY Supercharged

They don't, but then, I'm not your average white van man Laughing

Many thanks for saying that Axle, too many folks think they are being smart and cool tampering with headlights and don't realise that they haven't improved what the factory fitted and are fitting lamps that might not appear dangerous to them but they are to oncoming drivers because of the poor light scatter 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

after market hid's in normal headlights by law ,need some form of headlight wash system and headlight levelling and the dipped beam must stay on with the main beam .like tim says the light will go every where but the where its needed ,on the road...my son who does mot's says that if he did the headlight inspection by the book ,he could fail a car with aftermarket leds unless these specs were met...

some FFRR SE spec models came with basic halogens luckily most have hids. ... - .- -.

Scarey, the MOT centre that MOT's my Defender failed the sidelights, brake lights and indicators that I had converted to sealed multiple-LED units because the "e" mark was not on the lenses, it was on the inside of the body of each unit, screwed up against the body panels. I put the old LR units back on and passed the MOT. I contacted the supplier and pointed out the the lamps were illegal for use on road going vehicles as the approval mark was not visible. Give them their due, they redesigned the units and sent me a complete new set with visible e marks. At the next MOT the car again failed for the original reason.................. until I pointed out the correct and visible marks Rolling with laughter

Even better a friend of mine bought my spare set of adaptive headlights for a RHD RRS a couple of days ago. His RRS is UK registered but LHD so the headlights have a left dipping pattern because he spends most of the time in Europe so LHD made sense. He changed the units over on my drive on Tuesday, put the car in for MOT on Wednesday and it failed "because the headlamps are set-up for LHD" when he pointed out he had changed the units to RHD dip pattern the tester sheepishly admitted that the computer had actually told him the headlights were OK but he thought it was wrong because the car was LHD! 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
