Wheel Nuts

Well 7 of mine had "blown" but the good news was a 7/8" socket fitted very nicely and all came off without to much trouble. The ones i replaced them with came from Dan and I noticed a small gap between the silver cap and the body of the nut so I sprayed some Dinitrol in and let them stand on their ends for a few minutes to let it work its way in- it might do some good it might not.

The other question is copperslip grease, I know it divides opinion but seeing the corroded state of the nuts I took off i felt it would do no harm to apply liberally - this is at best a waste of grease or at worst dangerous - I'd be interested to hear thoughts. I also loosened all bolts and retorgued to 140 whatevers.

I also took off the three locking nuts and applied liberal amounts of Copperslip before refitting and retorqueing as I have posted before the fourth is knackered and not budging.

Thats the morning gone Very Happy Geoff

Apparently the air gun's most commercial wheel places use are the prime cause of knackering the nuts - they will use a manual socket set if requested (after a bit of huffing and puffing) Thumbs Up
