Last time i went to Lepsons, they had various very high end cars in having the wheels done. But yes there are other people that do it, i used lepsons as they're nearest, very pleased with the results though. My local tyre fitted couldn't believe they were refurbs and not new wheels.

I wonder what a fair price is for getting alloys fully refurbed - 20" in sparkle silver no serious physical damage (just the scratches and dings that go with being seven years old) with wheels left on car. Anyone care to share their experience? I have been quoted £65/wheel is that the going rate? Geoff |

Geoff , the mob that posted the link for, will do a standard wheel from £45 no tyre, £53.50 with tyre. Plus they can repair cracks, very well, they started repairing off shore power boat props and did the wheels as a side line, now the props are the side line! Most of the Garages in London and the Home Counties use them, and say that they have done the work them selves, and leg you over accordingly

I've been quoted £70 per wheel to rectify minor kerbing and then powder coat each one. Wilkinsons in Crewe.

From the research I did last year for my jaguar that sounds about right if they come to you. But if it's a car that you intend to keep I would recommend a full refurb. It's much better value. And although the wheels may look only lightly scratched you often find the insides are corroded when you remove the tyre. |

I paid £45 a corner! Bead blasted, primed, colour and lacquered! Wheels are now immaculate!
