Dashcams...which ones???

Does anyone use/have a dashcam for their FF? They seem like a great idea. Which one do you have and was it easy to install etc? Post a pic up if you have one Thumbs Up

I have Blackvues in our cars - they've been great - record clearly even at night. GPS - and an application that runs the scrolling map as you play back the video Thumbs Up

Also has (software) adjustable sensitivity, so it marks the recordings where you exceed your pre-set acceleration, cornering or braking settings.

The problem with your question is that not many people will have tried more than one - atleast not more than 1 good one.....

That's a fair comment. I did like the look of the Blackvue and seriously considered it. It's a nice compact unit and fits in well with any vehicle interior. It was something like 5 times the price of the Eprance, in most cases you get what you pay for. I thought I'd take a punt on the Eprance for £50, might even have been less than that. I thought well if it breaks after 6 months I might upgrade, but it's still going strong nearly 2 years later! Features and image quality seem as good as the Blackvue, going by the videos posted online.

It's pretty easy to find a dash cam that works, but it seems there is limited choice if you want something that's not hideous or has a gigantic mount.

+1 for the Blackvue.

Lots of research and I really wanted front and back on a single product. I live near box hill and have had one to many near misses with weekend cyclist 3 wide on blind corners.

Ending up getting the 2 channel 650 ex display model online. I know you pay a bit more but in this day and age I think it's a good investment. Fitting tomorrow so will you know how I get on with it. 2010 - Range Rover VSE 3.6 TDV8

I have fitted the Engineers Vans with the 801/804 type with GPS about £40 each. They work very well.
One had an accident and the footage was excellent in sorting the claim.
However as it had GPS it recorded speed etc. It showed that shortly before the accident the driver had been speeding, not by much probably no more than any of us do but enough to compromise the claim.
I have a similar one fitted to MG but without the GPS Whistle Whistle Mine was a blue one! Smile
