4.4 TDV8 Oil Pump.

I am very glad indeed that my MY12 is still within its three year warranty!
There has been a strange 'shucking' rotational noise from the lower front of the engine, firstly diagnosed as a failing A/C compressor (replaced), followed by the oil pump. The noise recording was diagnosed by JLR and the oil pump and aux belt replaced. (Not sure if the engine was removed).

This reduced the noise but once warm, it was still there, so back to JLR who have diagnosed this as still being the oil pump.

I have taken the car to a different dealer because having gone through two diagnoses that have not rectified the problem, I wanted a fresh perspective. This dealer seems pretty switched on and are telling me that the engine needs to be removed to carry out the job.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Is the L322 a body off car when it comes to exhaust manifolds, engine etc or was that the Disco/Sport?

I remember reading about the disco/sport needing the engine dropping to do certain jobs. I've not heard it for the L322

Body off is D4 & L320 Sport... Engine out on the 4.4 is quite normal... Mine’s been out twice in its life for modifications under warranty by JLR... Thumbs Up
