had an argument with the gatepost......

next door neighbour had parked in a slightly awkward place which meant that it was a 2 stage entry to the drive, i misjudged the distance, and.......well tbh i didn't even feel it hit and there is no deformation to the plastic so it was more of a kiss than a bang.

Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Censored Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry **llocks

but have asked chartwells who did my tailgate to give me a quote for a repair. Which will no doubt be extortionate. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Don't think it will buff out though Wink

I have had some quotes back, one garage who had the old one in reckon they can do the corner for ฃ180.
Another was ฃ260 but they would remove and do the whole bumper
Still waiting for the last quote back. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

All shiny and new again!!

The body shop took the bumper off stripped it down, painted the repair area then lacquered the whole bumper.

It's a top job but was a bit more than I expected at ฃ270, all done though and was only away overnight. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Ok so back from the dealer after a look at the squeaky belt and damp shock. Not bad enough to need changing yet! We shall see how it goes at the MOT next year. They also checked the battery and charging system which was all OK. The shock was deemed not gone enough for the warranty company to change at this point, though later it may be, the squeaky belts were only a tiny bit noisy at cold start up. The tensioner probably needs doing, but they reckon that when it gets worse they can justify to the warranty co swapping all the pulleys! (ฃ1200) which includes the crank pulley, though god only knows why that would need changing as it is just a metal disc which bolts to the crank!

They did point out that the NS front ARB drooling was going. Have ordered a new set from Hunters and they can go on at the weekend. Other than that it was all good, gave it a once over and health check and all good. Total Bill for the diagnostics, a wash and hoover was ฃ0.

Well that has saved me ฃ7 for the weekly wash! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Today I swapped out the ARB drop links, what a PItA.

I did this job on the old car and it was a 10 min job, took me 2 hours!! Could I get the old ones off! Anyway job done. Bit Peed off though. The dealer said one of the rubbers was done, which it was. However I have a sneaking suspicion it was done when they swapped the strut on that corner. It was the only rubber which was damaged and the only one they would have had to take off to swap the strut!!!!!! Anyway can't prove that. But will whine about it.

Looked into the squeaky belt as well, backed off the tensioner and all the idlers seemed to move nicely, sprayed the belt with a bit of water off the hose and it squealed a bit and the squeak went. Going to let it dry out and cool down as it only does it from cold and see if it was just the belt!

On a more positive note, just ordered a set of deployable steps from Hunters, have looked at the destructions and it seems doable, ฃ389.00 incl vat for the steps, harness and module. Seems a bargain saying they used to be a couple of grand!! Feel a How to coming on! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

well the steps are here awaiting fitting on a nice day........

when it was in last time the service man didn't point out that the inspection sheet had pulled up a couple of other points. There is a small oil leak round the turbo, and the power steering system, is leaking where the pipes joint the rack.

well the rack is probably a nip up job as they seem to be banjo fittings with copper washers.

the turbo is likely leaking from the oil feed or return. the return has a gasket not sure about the feed though. Booked in AGAIN!! with a Censored ing fixit message.

looking forwards to attacking the steps this weekend, or maybe next as its decorating this weekend apparently!!!!!! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Ok so it's been in today to diagnose the leaks, the steering just needed nipping up, they diagnosed a leaking intercooler pipe on the secondary turbo and have finally conceded that the oil pickup is leaking.

But they are going to do it all under warranty. I have ordered a spare oil feed service kit off Dan as I'm going to swap the bottom pipe out when I do an oil change in the new year, and I anticipate it being a "service part"

I have also quietened down the noisy belt by applying some belt conditioner (liberally spraying it in the general direction of the belt where I could get the arm in).

Also steps are now fitted and still working 100% Thumbs Up
