Hope I've done the right thing!

I've had a new l405 on order for just over a month now which I ordered in Montalcino red, not having seen one in the flesh it has been preying on my mind whether I would actually be happy with the colour. It seems every picture I have seen appears to be a different shade depending on camera ,lighting and even whether it was l405 or disco or defender. On the defender in particular I looks a lot darker. Anyway I called in Guy Salmon this morning and had a look at an l405 in Aruba, it is stunning so even though it is a premium colour I have changed my order. My mind is now hopefully at rest. IMHO only Firenze red has been any good in the LR colour range, I have not liked any other reds, and I am going all the way back to the Classics in the 1980s. They were all too burgundy for my liking, and old fashioned looking. Trocadero, Rioja, Portofino, etc etc (my first RR Classic was Trocadero so I should know).

Look at resales of the red cars too, they are ALWAYS cheaper and take longer to sell- cos no one wants them. I think you have made a wise choice. Discovery 4 HSE

Aintree Green!

Just joking. If you like it, it should be fine. Another thing that might help would be a factory visit. I did this when ordering my first Aston DB9. They weren't yet being delivered to customers so there were none to see on the streets. I went to the factory and saw more than I could shake a stick at.

I don't know if the dealer can organise this for you.

Aruba sounds very nice but being at the bottom of the FF tree I haven't a clue what colour that is...???

Certainly agree that red isn't the way to go, bought and sold a lot of cars over the years and never pay as much for a red one than just about any other colour and always have trouble shifting them....

I think Gold is the only colour that's worse....

This is purely my experience with buying and selling.... quite like the look of red cars personally.... Pete

Just a quick one on the same topic. Aruba which I have changed to has cost me an extra £800 as a premium colour. Does anyone know why this should be and where the extra cost comes from, I know some of it will be pure profit but what do you actually get extra for your money in a tin of paint? Agueroooooooooo. 93-20
