Welcome - sorry to hear you are having problems.

Try and use some punctuation and paragraphs.

Makes your post easier to read and probably more likely to get a response. Thumbs Up Howard

Red light stays on for 16 minutes after you turn off, then car goes to sleep...

Best way to "handle this problem" is to return the car to the dealer and get them to fix it...

If you use the search function you will find dozens of threads about it, sometimes it's a small simple thing sometimes it needs a new box...

And yes you did pay top money, at that price it should be mint with no faults at all...

Good luck.... Thumbs Up Pete

Am I correct in Thinking Trans fail safe may be triggered by the gearbox oil heating up on account of a blockage in the lower part of the radiator? See if they will put a new radiator and oil cooler in.

Otherwise it sounds as if the new gearbox needs a Look at or a re-set?? (Please feel free to advise otherwise anybody?) Thumbs Up

You might find it useful to look at the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which is easily found by googling that title, in particular:
section 9 (test of satisfactory quality),
19 (rights of the consumer where the dealer is in breach of contract by supplying goods not of satisfactory quality)
20 (right to return the goods and get your money back)
22 (30 day time limit for return/refund)
23 (right to repair/replacement).
There is also a Citizens Advice item on this which might be helpful. Only Range Rovers since 1988

yes, we had exactly the same problem a couple of years ago. Had the gearbox rebuilt at a cost of £3000 then a while after that went on a trip down to Cornwall. On the way back (about 10 miles from home) gearbox went into limp-home mode (wouldn't go over 3rd gear), turned out to be the bottom 6 rows of the radiator collapsed internally (known problem), radiator and trans oil cooler replaced and since then no problems!

My gearbox builder insisted that the radiator and gearbox cooler were changed, otherwise they would not warranty the work Shocked So it's a known fault Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
