how to remove walnut trim

hi guys,

just wondering if anyone knows how the walnut trim along the bottom of the doorcards comes off, (if it even does)

i can find videos on removing the sat nav side small bits, the longer bits near legs, and the air vents...

im removing it all becuase im trying to find somewhere to have it wrapped in either high gloss black or high gloss carbon Smile (along with door handle surrounds) and some other bits

Take the door cards off, and there is a nut at either end of the trim. Remove the nuts and pull the trim off.

really? i had the doorcards off the other day and couldnt see anything apart from 2 bolts in the middle which seemed to be holding the arm rest on, but wasnt.

I replaced one of my rear door cards a few weeks ago and had to swap over the walnut bit, definitely had a nut on either end of it.

Ah, mines pre - facelift, maybe yours is different if its a facelift!?

Had you considered dipping the parts instead of wrapping? I understand the finish is much more durable as it is laquered after the processand not affected by heat expansion, shrinkage or folds etc on the fiddly bits. If i remember Mike brewer did it to the FF they tarted up on wheeler dealers. That was some time ago and there are many more companies doing it now. I think the finish would be far more factory than wrapping. I know a company that does it pretty sure they are called carbon creations but will dig out their details and contact etc if you like.

expensive, wrapping is cheap, quick and gives a great result i think!

may even give it a go myself once i have all the parts off the car, some of them are easy to wrap, others alot harder!


just wish powerful uk would have stock of the gloss black parts, everything is out of stock everywhere apart from the dash fascia/clock area.

mines a pre-facelift. They didn't change the door cards until 2007ish i think.
