France 2007 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Zambezi Silver

Got to rectify: Went to Perigueux, was right about:
"it is difficult, maybe better in the UK"
"it 'll take two weeks to get an apointment"
"no replacement car"

BUT:
Got an apointment for today
suprise; they gave me a 2005 freelander as replacement car
they replaced the brake hoses
checked the car completely and told me she was in perfect order
they had never seen one on LPG were amazed it worked
helped me out really fine, were very friendly and gave me coffee after someone ran into the freelander on my way back and crashed it totally. the idiot forgot that one coming from the right has priority, was not insured and had no mot on his car. The police took the guy with them, but told me he would be wandering off again in an hour. He has nothing so he will never be able to pay for the damage.
I was so shocked about this hefty crash, that I could not find my camera on my phone. So no pics; (sorry)

Nobody was hurt, but two cars were wrecked. I feel very sorry for this dealer Pericaud in Perigueux, but they told me not to worry and that insurance would take out all the pain.

So after a horrible day, I am glad that I crawled out between the airbags, the shattered glass without a scratch, got my Full Fat back in good nick and still am able to do this short write up.

Take care all of you out there
Robert

Got mine done last week by Hunters in Chester. Took 3 hours and they did it whilst I pottered around the shops. Gave it a clean bill of health. They asked if I wanted it washed and valeted inside but I was in a hurry to get to Manchester for a meeting so declined their offer. Can't say I've noticed a difference.

Thanks for the flowers guys, (as we say in Holland) Thumbs Up I'm OK, only still a little deaf . Two airbags exploding makes a lot of noice and the pressure in the car goes up with such speed that it breaks the rear window in 1000 pieces (as the people in the garage explained me.)
Never had a severe accident in the last 40 years... but there seems to be a first time for everything. Crying or Very sad

But looking on the bright side, you had it in someone elses car, so not only are you walking around ok, but your pride and joy is also undamaged!

Glad you got out ok.

Cupar dealership are very welcoming. No sales pressure. Which is just as well as I would have spent a fortune. The fully loaded defender was tempting!!!

Got mine booked in at Solihull LR (now Listers, used to be Stratstone) for 19 September.

Collect and return.

Very disappointing service from Listers.

Very nice chap turned up on time to collect it.
Chatted about my old Merc for a while.
Car returned bang on time.
Cleaned and vacuumed.

No rant / internet forum moan potential. I feel robbed.

Mine was booked in with Guy Salmon (Knutsford) for today. Got an apologetic phone call (around 18:30) last night from the workshop manager saying that they could not supply a courtesy car for today. Upshot is that I have had to rebook for 16th October. Interesting to see what they will provide me with! Previous cars:
S-Max 2007-2013 (only diesel I've had, good car but expensive when diesely bits go wrong, so what's the point?)
Galaxy 2001-2007
Mondeo Estate 1997-2001
Sierra Estate 1993-1997
Uno Turbo 1987 -1993
Fiesta 1984 - 1987
Fiat 127 1982 - 1984
