Groupon wheel refurb offers

Just wondered if anyone here has used the recent groupon offers for alloy wheel refurb?
I had my 22's done by a local firm earlier this year costing 55 quid a wheel. These other (two in brum) are offering 25 per wheel. But will the work be lower quality?

thats my thought, dont want to drop my winter wheels off only to pick up some square things Shocked

the offers were by these companies. according to Groupon they've sold 40 - 50 odd units but i cant find any feedback about them

Alloy Wheel Refurbishment from £25 at Apex Motors

http://gr.pn/1K0Sjmc

Alloy Wheel Refurbishment from £25 at Midlands Alloy Wheel Refurbishment and Tyre Specialists (Up to 76% off)

http://gr.pn/1Jx776L

Alloy Wheel Refurbishment from £25 at Ride Repairs

http://gr.pn/1MkLD23

i had my summer wheels done by speedys wheels in walsall. not the quickest but services was good and the wheels are well balanced. i didn't like their 'silver' as it looked plasticy like wheel trims. so went with black.

if i wantedslver, i'd have had to "buy some land rover silver from a dealer" - megabucks Shocked

after

I've booked 2 of mine in with JP alloys in Cannock.

They've got a good reputation.

I was looking at this a while back - need to get the Skoda wheels sorted as they all leak round the beads due to flaking paint.

The place I called in Brum were offering 25 quid a wheel but for that they push the tyre back off the outside bead, mask it up, give it a rub down and spray paint the face of the wheel only. (probably with a rattle can)

Found a place in Lichfield, 60 quid a wheel. Tyres off, acid dip to remove old paint. then a base powder coat with a wet spray on top of that. refit tyres and balance. It goes in tomorrow. As Craig said, you do tend to get what you pay for.

Mine are about £60 a wheel they're charging. Seems to be the going rate for good quality finish.

They do the diamond finish too but starting at £70 ish.

A quick blowover springs to mind. There's no way you would get the same standard of work than if you paid full price. Done several groupon offers myself, one was a 3 course meal for £20, you get there and it's a special set menu, smaller portions and basic food not of the same standard as the main menu.. So echo you get what you pay for.

I used thewheelspecialist to do my winters, was a good job, tyres off stripped and re done in dark anthracite. Was about £250 for 4 wheels all tyres fitted and balanced.

I have to say though I would take the wheels to a local tyre fitter for balancing, there were loads of weights on the wheels after. My local friendly fitter rebalanced them for me with much less weight. They do after all balance dozens of wheels a day and are just better at it! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Collected the wheels today from JP in Cannock.

Finish was very good. Better than expected if I'm honest as the 2 wheels had some good gouges on the rim from kerb damage before I bought them.

Will get pics posted later to show you guys.

Highly recommended.
