Personal Contract Purchase.

Was just wondering about this, has anyone here got any recommendations for any firms they have used for this to buy a used Range Rover? Any thoughts and experience from those who have and finance company recommendations would be great. I think it would suit me in principle. I think I am using the correct terminology, it is the one where you have a balloon payment at the end and iether pay off the car keep it, return it, etc.

Many thanks,

The PCP is also used as the one to keep getting newer cars at the end of the term.

The balloon is the guaranteed future valve. It is an estimate of the value the car will have at the end of the term. Normally it is actually less than what the car will be worth.

So if the GFV is £10,000 and come trade in time your car is valued at £12,000 then you have £2k equity to put into a new car.

The GFV is normally lower than the cars value at the end of the term. If it is more than the cars value (GFV £10k and car value £8k) then that is the time to hand the car back and walk away (assuming you've kept inside the mileage terms) and let the finance company suffer the loss in value.

ahh cheers, yeah that's the one. Hopefully someone will be able to let me know from experience if there is someone good to use. I appreciate it is not the cheapest way to buy a car but deferring the main bill till later even at a higher cost makes sense.

Ofcourse finding a green supercharged RR 2010 or 2011 with around 30,000 miles on it could be the tricky part!!!! 2003 VW Golf V6 4motion
