She won't start!! ******** UPDATE********

Friday lunchtime I went to start the FF and I was presented with Park Brake failure and Active seat belt failure. The engine would not turn over and after couple of attempts I had nothing.

I called LR support from my "support button" and I was a little disappointed when I had to provide all my details, vehicle registration and location. Why didn't they know all this? To cut a long story short, when LR tech arrived it started.

This evening the same happened. The FF is now stranded in a department store car park and I am told there is no LR tech available until Sunday AM?? Censored

"We will send the AA" I challenged this "what could they do?" I then instead the vehicle was recovered back to my home approx 5 miles away.

This was at 17:42 and its still not been recovered. I gave the AA man the keys and left him with it.

5 months old and 5000 miles Censored Censored

more to follow...................

Several hours later and the FF will now start however the engine warning light is on all the time. Disappointed with LR assistance. Big Cry

Update

LR Tech came to my house this morning and there are too many faults to list. Its now been recovered back to Williams Manchester.

LR Tech was very good this morning and I have been contacted by LR Assist to get me either a FF or RRS as a loaner, so far so good.

Thumbs Up

So far, so good in the context of a very expensive, 5 month old car with major problems Whistle

My L405 has also been more troublesome than my L322 which is very disappointing. But sadly I'm not surprised. It's more complex and it's a Land Rover.

If I wanted reliability I would have purchased a Land Cruiser Crying or Very sad

LR Assist have offered me an X5 as a loaner Rolling with laughter They said it was because it was a Sunday?? I am going to wait until tomorrow to see what is available.

Just like our NHS, where you should avoid falling ill or injuring yourself at the weekend, the same rules apply to Land Rover breakdowns. Rolling Eyes (Although I am sure nobody plans these things!)

X5 is a very good, more than respectable car. A reasonable offer at the weekend, particularly in austere times... £50k courtesy or the bus? Let me think about that one Laughing

All in, it sounds like the assistance people have tried their best with the resources available to them?

Thumbs Up

I agree, and after my wife having 3 X5's in the past they exude quality and style. I have access to another car so no rush and no bus. I found it a little amusing that JLR offered it to me.

It seems either supremely confident or very naive to me to offer you an X5.....

They're either sure you won't like the X5 and can't wait to get the FFRR back - confident

Or you might just like it - which would be naive on their part for giving you one to try

Still waiting for a suitable replacement car. I had to chase LR multiple times today but got nowhere. The first guy I spoke to at 8.30 (they start at 7:30 and they promised a call first thing) said to me that he would check on the loaner and call me back in 10 mins. Almost 3 hours later I had to call him to chase and he said he had forgotten about me. Then I am told they don't have resources to get me a car. Big Cry Rolling with laughter which do I do?

After 7 calls i am informed that a car (either RRS or RR) will be delivered tomorrow but they don't know which. Then I receive a call to say that's not the case??

Final call to supervisor resulted in a promised return call but then I had to chase again and again to be told she is in a meeting. She left without calling me and delgated it to somebody else who did call me and says he will do everything to fix the problem, let's see what tomorrow brings.

A phone call to the DP of your supplying dealer, they get kicked by LR for any failure against targets so they will be delighted to have the boot on the other foot.
I had to be recovered by LR assist 2 years ago, they promised me they would be with me within an hour, 4 hours latter I was still being Censored about. It did me no good to speak to the dealer but they were delighted to have something to beat LR with. letters not necessarily in the right order
