RSE Panel cover wont close

Morning all

Anybody ever had the RSE cover refusing to close? When you push it down, it just does its clever slow and graceful opening thing..........Should I be looking at the spring? Has anyone ever taken the cover off without damaging it?

If I cant fix it, Im gonna have to jury-rig some sort of pressure clip in the base that it can clip over - not an ideal solution...
Thanks for any ideas 2007 TDV8 VSE Java Black

OOPs sorry....many apologies.....

RSE cover is the Rear Screen Entertainment cover.....my bad, Id been reading other posts which called it that, and just copied.....Its the lil plastic door that flips up and down, covering the Aux sockets for the Headrest screens.

This cover is very very loose on my ff, you lift it, it stays up, close it there is no damping of any sort or latching.
It feels like hinges etc have broken Sad Can the cover mechanism be accessed?.

Hmmm, sounds like the spring has broken on yours, buddy..........When I look at the back of mine, I can see the end of a fine spring sticking up......I cant see any catch on it, so Im now thinking that the spring is supposed to hold it closed, so we have a similar problem.

Let me know if you manage to dismantle it, I wont get chance to look at it for a few days, but Ill let you know if I have any success.

And Stan....?...best treat yours carefully.......it looks like these things are not designed to be operated by small persons in the back seat!! 2007 TDV8 VSE Java Black
