Removing lock barrels

Hi all

I have some handles I am going to colour code to my car but I don’t have a spare set of barrels that are currently there.

Can I remove the existing barrels and still use the car without them temporarily I appreciate if lose the emergency door lock id hope I wouldn’t need? Current stable:

Yes I have,

You can do,

put the spare key in to the barrel before you remove it, and leave it in until you replace it.

you can remove the key if you only have one, but be careful as there are a number of parts that may try to escape.

If you want pictures, let me know.
