Has the 405 4.4 AB got one or two batteries and where are they please?

Am I right in thinking that the smaller one is part of the stop-start system?

My modern Jaguars also have the same twin battery system.

The Stop-Stop OFF button is the most used switch in my cars.

Stop-Start in an Auto vehicle is just too slow to live with. Awful!

You must have a lightning quick right foot then. The engine stops at TDC and is started as the brake pedal is released. By the time I manage to get my right foot on the gas the engine is well and truly running as if it had never stopped. It's a good thing IMHO. Saves fuel, peace and quiet at the lights, nothing to not like really.

Mine doesn't have stop/start - so the smaller battery might do that, but must do other things as well.

Maybe it's LR's way of acknowledging that two batteries is he only real way to run park heat properly after the fiasco with the later L322's 😂 FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Thanks for that gents. I would be interested to know exactly how the two batteries are utilized. I have had a number of cars with two batts fitted from the factory.

One used one batt exclusively for unlocking and starting and the second for everything else. Another car ran entirely from its 'main' batt but kept a smaller batt fully charged for emergency starting which was activated by turning the key a quarter turn backwards prior to starting.

Which one would you plug the ctek onto? Or should you use the connections under the bonnet as for jump start?

Hi wealy I would only use the points under the hood or you fry computers for jump starting or trickle charging battery.
