Ok, so thanks to the forum, Ive got the Sprinter bottle jack, bought the spare wheel for the trailer, and our place is booked on the ferry for France for 1 Nov.............but can I find a definitive answer on the stickers?? No....Ive got the Hi Viz vests, the V5, the insurance certificate, the warning triangles......but do I need the 80 and 90 speed stickers???

Legally not required as per this site but it says probably best to have them.

Also you need spare bulbs etc as per this site

I think the advice on the website from the previous post is perhaps the way to go
the eu regs are very confusing (they all are) but they do say that these stickers are only required on vehicles that are legally obliged to observes those limits , which most people think excludes "foreign vehicles" but actually it is to do the total towed mass , even more confusing. there are links to articles on Caravan club website trying to explain this

Having said that, I have towed a bike trailer all through France, most recently behind a motorhome and previously behind a mitsubishi Outlander, came across French plod several times even following behind me, but they we not interested.
I have also seen many caravans being towed throughout France with Brit plates with no stickers

Friends who tow caravans say that they carry them in the car just in case , and they if the Gendarmes take an interest they can play "stupid rosbeif" and put them on. Non of my caravanning acquaintances have ever been stopped for "no stickers" in though. best play safe IMHO
