United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 V8 Fuji White
New to the Forum - Hello

Hello Folks,

Been in a blue and white propellor owner for many years, but fancied something different. Oddly found myself a rather tidy 2012 Fuji White Autobiography at Cooper BMW, Norwich by completely by accident! Seemed to be very competitively priced, had the requisite supplying main dealer history, and provenance, so decided to take the plunge. Took 2 weeks of negotiation, but we got there in the end! Take delivery on the 21st. Had a Tangiers Orange 52 plate L322 from 2003 to 2005 (an ex G4 competition vehicle) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to playing with all the toys! Enjoy the pictures.

Looks nice, but WTF is that tow bar ?

Almost looks like the mounting for the cycle carrier.

You also need the correct height rear registration plate Whistle

Looks like a tidy car though Thumbs Up

Tidy is the right description. Some TLC required, but nothing major. It needs a service but it's going to Land Rover for that once I get it home, it's also going off to my detailer for 3 days worth of cleaning, the poor thing looks like it has never been polished, and has been washed by the side of the road 'hand car wash' types. The plate will be gone as soon as the logbook hits the doormat, it will be replaced with R1DDO, sorted!

Have to agree about the 'rusty thing' hanging out below the rear bumper. We have no idea, the garage has no idea either. Good call on a bike rack though! Looks home made, most odd. It will not be on the car when I collect it.

One or two changes to come as well. I want to replace all the Range Rover lettering with 'gloss' black. The upper tailgate side rubbers are corroded at the bottom (whose aren't) and need replacing, load liner/dog guard required, and some rubber mats to replace the carpet ones. Hate carpet mats!!

Everything seems to work though, I have taken it for two quite lengthy test drives (covering around 100 miles in total) and all was well, the dealer let me have it up on the ramps in their workshop to give the dark side a through poke, prod and inspection. Being ex VOSA I like to think I know my way around the dark dismal places that are only seem by an MOT tester annually. Once the service is completed I will invest in as bulletproof warranty as I can, and make sacrificial offerings (if required) to the Range Rover Fault Fairy to be gentle with me!

I think it's the mounting for the bike carrier - like this one.

If it is. then there is one bolt to remove it & means you should have the 50mm square armature fitted in case you ever want a tow bar Thumbs Up

It looks the same, confirm one bolt securing, and yes just need a detachable hitch, have already checked the boot to see if one is there, sadly not, although the car was specified with it when new. --RiDDO
