22 inch wheels

ive been offered some overfinch 22 inch wheels with new tyres for a cracking price but what they like with handling, ride quality and other things that effect the niceness off a FFRR Thumbs Up onto no6 Range Rover

22" wheels and low profile tyres are perfect for totally wasting all the millions of ££££s that the RR designers spent bringing you a car with a fantastic ride coupled with real off-road ability! As Ken says though, each to their own; it would be a sad world if we all drove about in cards that looked exactly the same as each other. Rules are made for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.

Have to say that in my opinion (and experience ) RRs look great with 22 BUT and a big BUT, the compromises are not for everyone. Ride is this biggest but another consideration includes the quality of the roads and the punctures you will get. The tyres are expensive and dont wear well so expect to buy regular replacements. They are effectively large Rubber bands ! Many go back to 20's after a while!

Re the Overfinch 22's they are the nicest looking as not too blingy like Kahns etc, however there are lots of replicas so please check they are genuine as most are not. Not that all the replicas are bad but many are. Poorly built and subject to steering vibration, cracks / warps and defects etc. The 22" revere wheels are also nice if you like 22s

If the Overfinch's are too cheap then beware and check thoroughly

I think big wheels with rubberband tyres just looks so wrong on an off roader, especially on RR, 19 or 20 look perfect.

I often see Hummers in Manchester with bling 24"wheels, they just look Censored !!! Much prefers those hummers with gumball tyres on Thumbs Up

Have to agree with Kin, 4x4's should have more meat on wheels not less.

I suppose the reason why you bought the car in the first place dictates the tyres/wheels you have though. If you're a "bling bling" type/footballer and bought it for style, go for the 22". If you tow a horse box, drive up green lanes or (god forbid! Smile ) actually take it off road, then 22" low profiles may not be ideal! Very Happy

On the other hand massive modulars with balloon tyres with 6 inch nobbles on them don't look great on a FFRR in my opinion!

H2/H3 Hummers are crap off road anyway and I imagine were never bought with the intention of mud plugging or anything other than parking outside night clubs, so 24" chrome wheels with spinners seem appropriate for the type of people who own them (insincere apologies for anyone on here who has/had one Smile ).

Agree with all thats been said, I like the OverFinch wheels but would never get them due to the cost, wear, crap off road etc.

I noticed a significant difference moving from 18" to 19" stock wheels in terms of ride quality, 22's would just be wrong. Discovery 4 HSE

simple don't do it, leave the 22's to Sport owners or if you must go for Overfinch wheels get the 20" the genuine ones were on a huge discount recently.

If you go for 22's you will be petrified of going any where near a kerb, and with a car this size you WILL kerb it. Nobody is more careful than I am but I have managed to kerb mine several times simply due to the vehicle size and not being able to get around small car parks etc - luckily my 19" is still OK Cool
