NEXEN Roadian HP 255 /50/20 109V Extra Load

Guys I need some advice please.

Just phoned my friendly ATS tyre place to enquire on a price for 4 of the above tyres.

He told me not to put them on my FFRR 4.2 Supercharged as the load rating is only a V so would make my insurance invalid!

Has anybody used these tyres before and is he talking rubbish!!

Cheers

'V' is the speed rating which is up to 150mph, the 109 is the correct load rating for the FF..

loads here including myself have had these on our FF's and been happy with them...there are a few members that dislike them though..

there are 4 delivered here on ebay for £339,

I'll bet your local ATS would recommend something else probably more expensive Wink

I have Nexens on my 5.0L Supercharged - no problem. Geoff

Great thanks for all the quick responses.

I thought he was trying it on and was telling me that Y rated are stronger (and more expensive!!).

Cheers all

Had Nexens on the last car. Noisy as hell compared to Continentals. Less than 5k miles saw me back on Contis.

@ Stan. Nope. But then I hadn't heard of Wanli or Linlong either before I was educated by the Jag main agent. Tread pattern looks OK though but no idea about quality.

Sailun are Chinese and have been making tyres since the 1950's. All sorts as well, Aircraft, Buses etc. Part of the double coin group and quite well respected. Even did a JV with Michelin. Popular in Oz as well as I recall.

@ Stan. I think those Gripmax are one of the brands owned by TIAuto and their other brands include Yokohama etc.

Should be good enough by that reckoning. Thumbs Up
