United Kingdom 2003 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Java Black
Aftermarket head unit with existing amp

So after doing a bit of research pretty much everyone has said that it can't be done.

However, after looking at some wiring diagrams I noticed that the amplifier has 4 inputs (LF,LR,RF,RR)

To keep everything working I.e trip computer, mpg, time etc working on the speedo display.
Would it be as simple as relocating the existing head unit somewhere, wiring up the aftermarket speaker outputs to the amplifier directly, and just splitting the required wires from the old head unit to the new one for the power and ignition etc.

Am I looking at it too simply or could this be done?

Would appreciate any sort of help!

I take it when you say the amplifier, you mean the dsp. That has the inputs you describe. Unfortunately it's not an amp, more it's a digital sound processor with an active crossover. The bm54 radio module contains the amps. The dsp won't power on without the bm54 telling it to....

You will need to feed the line level output into the bm54, as one of the existing sources..... And that source will need to have identified itself on the ibus for it to be selectable.

If you read the big thread Haylands has kindly put together it's discussed a bit more. Not sure how the work on the magic box that may get it going is coming along?
