Nope, u cant Smile That button disables the entire PDC system. I use it regularly when I reverse into my space and sit there for a few minutes before work.

Plus, front PDC was optional on the HSE I believe? I may be getting confused with the SE spec. But either way the button turns PDC on front and rear, or turns it of front and rear.

Manual:

PDC can also be manually selected by pressing
the switch (illustrated) on the centre front
fascia (the indicator light in the switch
illuminates and a short tone sounds as
confirmation). A second press of the switch
deactivates the PDC system. If PDC has been
manually switched off by pressing the switch, it
will not activate automatically until either the
switch has been pressed again, or the starter
switch has been turned off and on again.

The pdc ecu is the same for all 02-09MY cars. There are some older modules out there but basically the module is the same just made by a different manufacturer. The front and rear sensors are identical and can be interchanged. The looms however are not. They are not separate pdc looms the spur from larger looms (the front front the engine bay) unlike the RRS. You will have to remove the bumper to access the wiring/connectors/sensors. Details can be found on pages 740 onwards within the rave workshop manual. Like wise the replacement sensor can be diy painted without problem. The e u is plug and play (no configuring required) and is located behind the fuse board in the boot. 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior

I had the bumper off today in the hopes of finding some chaffed wiring. No such luck, so have to go for ECU next I suppose.

Can the front sensors be disabled as an option? I know they were optional fit, but I assumed that they only work if they are plugged in?

A dealer tried to enable the headlight delay in the past and wonder if he could have fudged this up.

Yep it's software option. All off, front off rear on & both on arethe options. This can be done by an indy with the AutoLogic kit so you can save on the labour. The headlamp delay shouldn't had messed up the sensors as that is contain within the body control module and is separate to the pdc module. 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior

A quick query in relation to PDCs. A colleague at work has scuffed the corner of my TD6 front bumper pulling out of his parking space in his car. Have taken it to a LR approved bodyshop for an estimate and they reckon that the bumper needs removing and stripping to repaint properly and also that the PDC sensors will require reconfiguring on diagnostic software when refitted. Does anyone know if the sensors will require reconfiguring if unplugged from front bumper? Only reason is that the guy wants to pay for the repair himself, which would also suit me better as I won't have to declare a non fault on any insurance application and the quote I've received is quite expensive. If PDC sensors don't require reset then I can maybe shop around for a cheaper quote from a good bodyshop but without Autologic or similar.

Thanks

I am no mechanic but would have thought that if the car was fully "Asleep" or Battery properly disconnected then the car will "Never Know" that the sensors have been disconnected and then reconnected as they were previously.

Just my thoughts based on removing airbags/changing steering wheels etc that I have completed succesfully without a dreaded fault light Thumbs Up

There is no "configuring" to do with the PDC system at all. You can swap sensors round till your hearts content. With the system active or not. It's a relatively basic system.

Cheers fellas - pretty much what I assumed especially if battery disconnected. Think LR bodyshop trying to talk job up.

I need a pdc and mine ends in 930 but found a brand new range rover unit, looks same but part number ends in 931. Asked seller and said not compatible. Do you reckon it is??

Its cheap enough to take a risk!
