Ups & Downs

I've had a few ups and downs over the last couple of weeks Confused

I got a mail in a tyre In the yard at work (again) and the tyre went straight down. I then couldn't get the brace on the nuts so had to call someone out Censored Fortunately the nail was in the centre of the tread so it could be repaired but the tpms valve is a goner.

Next I was driving to the caravan down the country lanes and didn't see a bush blown over at the side of the road had a large trunk hidden in it and smashed the passenger side mirror. Luckily only the glass popped off and I could clip it back in but the glass is broken so will need replacing.

Yesterday we were off to the van again and I got the first warning that it's winter, the damn thing wouldn't start. I hooked it up to the wife's car and it started straight away but I have been paranoid over weekend. I think it's because I have only done the 3 miles to and from work all week. Guess it's back out with the voltmeter and charging gear. Big Cry

Lastly I notice I now have a piece of plastic hanging near the front wheel. It looks like the a screw has come out of a cover, probably whilst having a bit of fun today.

on the upside though on the way to the van there is a road that runs right beside the river and it is prone to flooding. Today it was particularly bad with debris everywhere. Of course the wife didn't want me to drive down it but I couldn't resist. At one point she was shouting at me to stop so I slow down and she started shouting at me to keep going Laughing

I still love this car though Very Happy

Sorry I couldn't rotate the first pic Embarassed

Looks like fun, just a word of warning, prolonged wading in depths deeper than your sills will result in wet carpets, the floorpan is not sealed, this then soaks into the inches of open cell foam on the back of the carpets and will stay there rotting away nicely without you knowing anything...

If you want to check, easiest thing is to remove the slotted aluminium tread plates (they just pull straight up) and get your hand as far under the edge of the carpet as you can, any moisture and it needs drying out...

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Pete

Thanks for the tip, it's not as depending as it looks though.

I had it on off-road mode and the water coming on to the bonnet is only spray.

It was fun though. Very Happy

What about breathers on the diffs and transfer box? Do they reach up to a sensible level?
