2010 Range Rover Interior Door Panel light bulb replacement.

Hi all,

I'd appreciate if someone can guide me on this. Do I need to remove the interior door panel to replace the LED/light bulb in the passenger's door panel (illuminating the interior door handle).

I have a 2010 Range Rover Autobiography.
The bulb/led definitely has power as it just glows a very dim orange instead of being bright white like the other three doors. I asked the service manager at my RR main dealer and he said the whole door card would need replacing at huge cost which seems completely ludicrous to me....

Any guidance will be very helpful. Searched through the forums, no clear indication on this subject.

They are very small LED's and are soldered into the door card loom so as dealers won't repair things, just replace, they are correct. There is nothing to stop you replacing it though it is certainly replaceable... as Stan says, remove it and go to Maplins, they should have something that will work...

That is based on the led's in mine which is a few years older than yours but I can't see they would change them... mine are a sort of yellowish green though....

Also worth checking a small piece of paper or sweet wrapper or something hasn't got stuck in the hole and is changing the color, LED's don't usually change colour, so it could be blocked.... Pete

Haylands.....

You were right on the money!!!!

I took a Dental Pick from my kit (an earlier eBay purchase, I knew they'd come in handy for something!) and with minimal exploration in the tiny 4mm tunnel the LED resides in, managed to dislodge several chunks of fossilized toffee. Normal lighting service rapidly resumed....watch out for little sticky fingers if kids travel in the back of your Rangie!!

Many thanks for the tip Haylands!! Excellent result!
