2015 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aruba

None of your rubber band tyres here . . .

Got the winter tyres fitted onto a set of 18" wheels. None of your rubber band tyres here . . . 265/60R18

Had to mod the calliper weights, but there is about 5-6mm clearance . . .

Still waiting on centre caps. The ones off the previous alloys didn't swap over. Too small. Overall, very pleased. V8 or else ...

Its transformed the ride. Noticeable how much it takes the edge off bumps in the road, yet doesn't seem to have compromised handling. Also much quieter. Bumbling along at 30 is near silent. ITs brill.

The previous summer tyres were 255/55R20 Goodyears, and although oversized (not my choice) with additional sidewall they are really rubbish in terms of ride quality and gave me no confidence in cornering . . .almost like the back end was tucking under itself. They are not getting fitted back on the car. Going to get a new set of tyres for the 20" alloys further down the line. V8 or else ...

It's one of the reasons I like having the Defender to go shooting in, big chunky tyres and 16" alloys.

Yes. Kumho kc15. Had them before and was very pleased with them so went went for them again. 98 quid a corner from tyre leader. Week 27 of 2015 manufacturing date. V8 or else ...

Well, it certainly looks good ... the tyres fill the arches better, too, being slightly larger than stock. any idea if one of those fits in the spare wheel well??? Regards,

I agree, winters give a much better ride. A taxi driver mate of mine said that the depot he worked at kept winters on in the summer until they wore out then got another set.

My Goodyears are harsh and noisy compared to my lovely Hankook Winters - they come with pretty pictures on the side too!

I presume they are the 4 pot brembo's like what is fitted to out 2007 TDV8 that we have just aquired?
Although I didn't think 18 inch wheels fitted over 4 pots.
Nice robust looking wheels, what type or number are they please?

They are compomotive pd1881.

You have to trim some metal off some metal weights which stick out beyond the caliper. Simple to do as the metal pieces are just bolted onto the caliper. I cut them back to be flush with the caliper. No issues so far.

Overall, still very pleased with the setup. V8 or else ...

I have the same wheels on my Sport. Much better tyre choice for off-road and, like you say, they improve the ride quite a bit too.

I also think they look great!

Do you have any pics of the mods you had to make? I presume your caiipers are the same as my 2010 TDv8 and i would ike these wheels.

And are you still running then and did you have any issues?
