Lower Ball joint - Offside Front

Thumping is now becoming more insistant ...

Is it a DIY change?

Is it worth doing anything else at the same time? Upper one for example Smile 2010 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway on Ivory

It depends on how handy you are with the spanners, it can be done but is a lot easier with a 4 post ramp, as the nuts have to be torqued with the car on its wheels to avoid twisting the bushes.

You might as well check the other side too, are you sure it is the ball joint its also worth checking the Anti roll bar drop links, these will wear and knock too but are cheap and easy to change, and the small ball joint on the Hub end of the rear arm can wear too.

Could also check the track rod ends while you are under there, inner and outer...... and the list goes on! It depends on how far you want to go, all will give a knock.

Also have a look at the gaiters on the CV joints and Track rods, these can split and let grease out and dirt in. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
