Is no sunroof a deal breaker?

One of the cars I've been interested in is a 4.4 SDV8 Vogue SE in silver. Lots of extra kit that I'd use such as 21" wheels, park assist, wade sensing, Blind spot monitor and privacy glass but doesn't have a sunroof.

It's ex LR car so I wondered if it had been one of their off road cars but I'm assured that it hasn't been.

Personally, I never use the sunroof but it's nice to have for selling it on but is it a deal breaker?

Even if you don't use the sunroof, it brings a lot of light in the cabin, for me it's a must have and I think a big plus when comes resale time. You have to see if it is a must have for you, if not I think the fact it lacks a sunroof is a way to haggle the price.

I'd prefer without a sunroof. I asked on here what effect absence would have on resale a while ago. The opinion seemed that more people liked them than not, so the resale market for metal roof cars would be smaller.
I'm not at the point of ordering a 405, but my current thinking would be that they are so expensive that it would be as well to have the spec I wanted, rather than what would be best for resale. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Lot of good advice here, thank you and you've expressed my feelings almost completely.

The last four or five cars that I've sold have all gone straight back to a dealer, without the autotrader in sight. Mainly because they've offered me very decent and fair part ex prices and that seems to be the case with this one. That said, I did have one dealer offer a very low ball price and the cars I've picked are all competively priced, so it's hard to know where they get their prices from some times.

need to give it a bit more thought Thumbs Up

Check with a dealer if it will affect a trade in value?
Can you get a normal sunroof on a 405? Or are sunroof’s all known as panoramic roofs?

Personally, i would only buy one with a pan roof! Thumbs Up

IIRC they ran out of glass at one point - so there were a batch without sun roofs - and yes, it's only pano roofs

Whilst there are people that don't like / want them, it will seriously limit the market and so it must affect resale value

Considering it's standard now, more people will want one that not

I think all L405s now come with panoramic glass roof with electric blind as standard.
The options are to replace it with a steel roof which I would think would likely devalue the car or to have it opening at extra cost. I can't see the point of having it open as it adds wind noise and the car has good A/C. So I would doubt that the opening option would add value.

I was sceptical about pano roofs but having had our Mercedes SL for a while now, it really is nice having that open feeling with roof up and it really brightens the cabin.
Given the choice, I think you'd be mad to go for an opening steel sunroof over a fixed glass roof because you can only enjoy/get the benefit from a steel one when the weather is suitable.
All down to personal taste though.

had an 2016 E-joke as a loaner during inspection. It had the glass pano. I hit the switch and watched the headliner go back and was like "wow cool!" then I looked at the switch and hit again and nothing...looked for another switch on how to open the roof...there isn't one! What a stupid option IMO. Id rather have a steel roof over just a glass roof that does nothing. And I'd rather have a moon roof over both of those option...better yet I'd like the Pano roof like the Cayenne's have that DO open up....now THAT is awesome....THEY did it right. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

I think there are two types, both of which are panoramic. Fixed and sliding, the sliding being in two parts essentially
