gearbox query

evening all, i have a 2004 td6 with the GM box i have read quite a bit about them failing at about 80,000 miles due to the breakdown of the TC. My gearbox seems to be fine (at present) i am at 73,000 now and it has not had an oil change in the 5 years i have had it, my query is would it prolong the life of the box if i had a new TC fitted now. I am not a fitter or technically minded so any info would be welcome. thanks jeff

They don't ALL fail at 80,000 you know......

My former ride, a 2002 td6 is still going strong on its original box at 135,000 Bow down

I think u will find most on here would recommend an oil and filter change for the box but not a complete TC refurb. Thumbs Up
