Have you already got both 7 pin sockets and are they on a genuine LR harness (as opposed to being spliced into the vehicle harness)? If so then swapping to a 13 pin socket should be just plug and play as the car will already have been coded. I think.

Thanks Zircon blue et all

I don't know, think it's a Witter bar and would be gob smacked to find a non plug item as car has wanted for nothing in its past.
Atm I have a single 7 pin socket. Many thanks
Paul

you can tell if the kit is a plug and play, have a look in the boot cubby on the drivers side, if it has the fag packet ecu in it then you have a plug and play kit. Try and find the wiring used as if it has been put in with a towing relay and scotch blocks then it will need taking out carefully.

That is the vary same booklet that comes with this! http://www.pfjones.co.uk/land-rover-range-...00113.html

It is plug and play, and only requires a basic tool kit and the ability to follow a few pictures Shocked What can go wrong Laughing Wink

In all honesty it is really simple to install, and I think that the only person who might struggle a bit is a blind man, I even recon my Mum could install one of these, Whistle might take a day of two Whistle Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Especially if he was incredibly short too.

The Land-Rover instructions on Topix are slightly more detailed i think. They even detail exactly which tools you need, down to the actual socket sizes

https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/v...n.prs72904

its in the accessory fitting instructions

just note the picture on the the PF jones site is a generic pic, but you get the actual Land-Rover/Westfalia kit. The instructions in the LR kit are better than the westfalia one, it's what you pay the extra £100 for!

Ok I quick update
PF Jones who are super helpful state up to 2009 nothing needs coding as advised and good to hear. The kit is now £84 all in for the Westalia.

I had a peek looking for the fag packet and found this baby, not as expected but confirms no cutting.

should just be able to unplug and plug in the new one then Thumbs Up

Interesting that the installation manual does not refer to the need to code it.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The OEM is plug and play, I suspect that it sends a nod to the BCM via the K bus and it just changes the settings accordingly Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
