Dreaded air-bag light!

Hi All,

Got recommended to come over here from another forum i'm a member of (M3cutters.com) ive own my 53' Vogue for a good few years now and so far so good! but i do have the air-bag light which has started to annoy me, had the same issue with my e46 m3 which was solved by a £5 sensor! i had a reading it was rear passenger airbag, as anyone had this? also can anyone do coding/resetting in the London area? cheers! Thumbs Up

I have a diagnostic rsw allcomms, I fixed my airbag system with it after an indy wanted to change completely the wrong part.. long story, but im in chessington surrey.

if its a 'rear airbag', have either rear door cards been removed? there are bags in the doors... I think. p.s. I have 2002 model.

as you are new, (welcome, by the way!) remember to use the PM 'private message' utility (toolbar in brown above.) if you are 'breaking cover' to get it touch etc. you can post here that you've sent one...

Can't say the door cards had ever been removed but i was hit in the rear which required a new rear bumper (seriously how can someone not see a Range Rover?? Rolling with laughter ) but i'm sure the air bag light was on before this. How can the stealer give you wrong information to change a apart? its not like parts are cheap! might have to arrange to pop down will PM

I'm quite keen which a camera so hopefully will get some pictures up of mine soon, also bit of a car nut apart from the Range Rover i have a BMW E46 M3, Cortina 1600E as well a Corsair V4

Had something very similar. Plugged RSW in and it listed the rear passenger head airbag as at fault. Got hold of a secondhand unit then removed the door pillar rims so that i could drop the headlining to gain access. Disconnected the battery then went for a relaxing coffee. Removed the offending airbag unit, fitted the replacement. Connected everything back up, Plugged the RSW in and everything now working.
All this, including the coffee break took no more than 2.5hrs.
Local indy wanted to strip the entire roof lining out and said it would take them a whole day to do.
i think that i did post this previously.

hope this helps?? If you don't know what you're doing - do it quickly!
