Would you - Series 3

I know this is FFRR and not landyzone or some such but I will ask anyway as I know a number of you have them;

I have been offered a 1978 series 3 88 inch with 86000 miles 1 maybe 2 owners 2.25 diesel, I only saw it briefly before realising it could be for sale, bulkhead excellent inner wings a bit rusty, apparently only need a couple of chassis welds for an MOT. I would be buying it as a long term project so not too bothered re the odd bit of welding.

Anyway £1500? is that reasonable?

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

Good price! Can't see you ever losing money in it.

I'm currently having my '73 rechassied.

The diesels can be bloody noisy things and much more so than the 2.25 petrol, but they're determined little sloggers.

If yours really is a long-term thing, think seriously about a galvanised chassis. They're not that expensive when you consider they're maintenance-free and cost-free after fitting. Plus you'll have better access to those one-off jobs whilst the body is off.

I've also had both galvanised chassis on my LR's painted black so they look stock and don't stick out. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.

Good deal, it's a an average price here for something to be fully overhauled to get a nice vehicle. Current:
- L322 2006 S/C lpg
- RRC 1988 lpg / 287 000 miles
- Stage one 1981
- Lightweight 1976
- 109 SW 1968 under rebuilt

Gone: none
