I think that those £75 mentioned screens were actually insurance ones, as I seem to remember being shown a £450 price for a screen, plus fitting. The glass companies, know how to sell a screen, and deal with all the hassle.
Just remember to make sure your policy, does indeed have screen cover.
I had One done on the old p38 I had, and it was so nice to have the heaters working again, and all for £80.
Only thing to add, was that the bonded rear view mirror on that p38 had to be removed, and restuck

When I had mine done I was with Aviva. It was done through them and didn't count as a claim.

Screens are classed as a claim but don't generally affect your no claims bonus. It is also worth checking if your insurance company has a preferred supplier. Some will only authorise claims through their own supplier and won't pay out for screens sourced from other companies. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Insurance will pay if using a company other than they recommend, but the excess will be higher. In my case it would have been £120 excess instead of £90. But my insurance company waived the extra excess as their recommended company couldn't do the replacement for two weeks as the mobile fitter dislocated his thumb and were happy for me to take it to my nearest fitters.

I had exactly the same symptoms on my previous L322 resulting in a drenched right foot after motorway driving in the rain.

I had the screen replaced under insurance (£75). I phoned the glass fitters base and discussed it with them armed with some knowledge gleaned from the forum.

They agreed that a Genuine screen should be fitted (warning against far cheaper Chinese made screens). I booked it in at thier premises and left it there for as long as they wanted it.

They appreciated that I had some knowledge and didn't want it fitting in five minutes like the majority of customers . . .

The post mortem of the previous screen revealed very shoddy work on a replacement screen. Perfect after the new screen was fitted !

Thumbs Up Where do you go after one of these . . . ?

^same as me with Autoglass.

Done at the base inside and left it for a day. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
