Cheap Towbar

Hi All,
I'm a recent buyer of a TDV8 FFRR which came with no towbar. I usually prefer to have one on my vehicles but at least it's a good sign it's not been dragging heavy trailers about.
I really want a flange type towbar so I can fit a pin ball hitch and I can tow any trailer.
I was put off by the price of the Westfalia ones where you have to add the drawbar to the bracket as an not inconsiderable add-on.
I was almost going to buy this:-

Then saw this one:-

Which seems remarkably cheap.
Still going to go to PF Jones for the proper electrics kit I think. I would prefer removable rather than fiixed.
Anyone tried either towbar and have any comments.

The second one looks Censored

Personally, I'd just buy the right one from PFJones - yes it's a fair bit more money, but you know it's good Thumbs Up

I agree with the above, get the right westfalia armature and the farmers hitch.

But if you really want a cheap solution PF jones do their own flange bar at £93. http://www.pfjones.co.uk/range-rover-2002-...ar-en.html[/url] There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Hopefully this doesn't come across as being rude but my advice is to buy the Westafalia unit with the farmers hitch - compared to the cost of the first BONG your OBD makes it's loose change Whistle Back in a Defender!!

I have the top option on mine and genuine electrics pack, ecu, wiring, plugs and plug plate.

It can be fiddly to get the metalwork into place and the exhaust hangers could do with being stronger/thicker IMO but it's done very very well indeed!
If I want to drop it off and have it almost hidden yes it's 2 bolts to unhook the hitch bar but that's only 5mins work and you can easily fit other plates/options onto the end as well. FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Just bought My RR and now looking at tow bars my self PF ones for £93 pounds from my research seems to be old Witter model. well it was the case when I fitted one to my 530D.

PF Jones sell Witter and Westfalia towbars, if you want cheap then Witter will do that fine, but if you want OEM at over 50% discount on L/R prices then Westfalia is the one for you! And PF ones is by far the cheapest place selling Westfalia towbars Thumbs Up

There are 2 types of towbar available from Westfalia, the 'Farmers' type multi height and the Swan Neck type. The Farmers has the advantage that the height can be adjusted and you can fit a combi hitch as well as a standard ball hitch.. and it's £100 cheaper Thumbs Up

Both use the same sub frame so they are interchangeable, and both are removable from the car so there is nothing to see or walk in to Shocked either Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
